We had a wonderful stay at this hotel with breathtaking ocean views and a fantastic room that was clean and well-equipped for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect, with the Pacific trails just a stone's throw away, but we found the restaurant prices a bit on the high side. While the housekeeping wasn’t daily unless requested, the room was always tidy and the amenities made our experience enjoyable.

Rooms

Our studio room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view of the ocean. It was well-equipped for self-catering, but the oven was awkwardly high, making it a bit difficult to use comfortably.
Service

The staff were accommodating and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed. However, we did notice the restaurant was understaffed, which affected service times.

The hotel is ideally situated by the Pacific Ocean, with easy access to scenic trails and close to Ucluelet's dining options. It offered a perfect blend of natural beauty and convenience.
Dining

We enjoyed our meals at the hotel's restaurant and bar, though we found the prices a bit steep for what was offered. The quality was good, but we wished for more affordable options.
Facilities

The hotel’s facilities were impressive, with great amenities, although we would have liked a larger selection at the restaurant.

6.2/10

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. While the view from my room was stunning and the room itself was spacious and well-equipped, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed untrained and indifferent, which was quite disappointing given the hotel's reputation. Overall, the experience didn’t justify the high price, and I found better dining options outside.

Rooms
8.0
I really enjoyed my room which had big sliding glass doors opening to a great balcony with a glimpse of the ocean. The kitchenette was well-appointed, but exploring it required some trial and error.
Service
5.0
The service was lacking. Staff were indifferent and often appeared uninterested, leading to frustrating experiences during my stay.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic, with easy access to the Wild Pacific Coastal Path and beautiful views from the lounge. It was serene and allowed for a great escape to nature.
Dining
5.0
I found the food to be average and not worth the price; I had a better breakfast experience at a local restaurant in town. The dining options here didn't impress me.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were decent, but the overall atmosphere felt more chaotic than relaxing.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at this resort. The location is stunning with breathtaking ocean views, and the rooms are spacious and equipped with beautiful interiors. However, the service was severely lacking, especially in the restaurant, and the cleanliness did not meet my expectations. If you're looking for something luxurious with excellent service, you might want to explore other options.

Rooms
8.0
The room was surprisingly spacious with an amazing view of the ocean, but it could use some attention to detail.
Service
5.0
The service was courteous and responsive, but unfortunately, the restaurant was chronically understaffed, leading to long wait times.
Location
10.0
The hotel is located right next to a beautiful rugged rocky shoreline, making it a great spot for relaxation or enjoying a drink.
Dining
6.0
Dining was hit or miss; I experienced some great meals, but others fell short, particularly a disappointing breakfast.
Facilities
7.0
The overall facilities were decent but should have been better maintained considering the resort's luxury status.

Our wedding at the Black Rock Resort was an incredible experience, marked by stunning views and excellent service that truly made our special day memorable. However, we did face some initial communication issues during the planning process, which might be something they could improve. The beautiful ceremony space and reception area exceeded our expectations, and the easy access to amenities was a significant plus.

Our family getaway at Black Rock was nothing short of spectacular! With stunning views and a magnificent hotel design, every moment felt special. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, although there were minor maintenance delays during our stay. The dining experience included delicious meals, but I felt some breakfast options could have been improved. Overall, the stay was a great value, especially with the access to the breathtaking Wild Pacific Trail right outside.
